What we offer

Our leadership development is delivered as a masterclass series, broken into four layers that build progressively from self-leadership through to strategic growth. Companies choose the layers and modules most relevant to their teams.

Every topic, however common to leadership development elsewhere, is taught through the lens of accountability. The focus is not theory, but visible behavioural change embedded in daily operations.

Each layer maps to a dimension of the AccountabiliTree™ model. Development moves from self- and personal accountability, through relational accountability, to team and system accountability. In this way, development progresses in the same order that accountability actually matures in a business.

Layer 1: Self-Leadership

Where accountability starts: with you.
Lead yourself before leading others.

Accountability begins with the individual. You need to own your behaviour, decisions, and results before you can credibly hold anyone else to account. This layer builds that foundation.
‍
‍Emotional Intelligence
‍
Recognise emotional triggers and understand how behaviour impacts others. Composure under pressure is the foundation of accountable leadership.
‍
‍Personal Accountability
‍
Strengthen ownership of decisions, behaviour, and results. Identify avoidance or over-functioning patterns and model clear standards.
‍
‍Motivation
‍
Understand personal drivers and energy patterns, aligning effort with business priorities for sustainable performance.

Layer 2: Relational Leadership

Where accountability is held: between people.
Leadership happens in conversation.

Accountability is held between people. This layer equips leaders to set expectations, give feedback, and resolve tension before it costs the business.

Communication
‍
Set expectations clearly, reduce assumptions, and improve alignment across departments. Clear expectations are the precondition for holding anyone accountable.
‍
‍Giving & Receiving Feedback
‍
Normalise timely, structured performance conversations. Reduce defensiveness and prevent performance drift.
‍
‍Conflict Resolution
‍
Address tension early and constructively, turning friction into productive dialogue rather than escalation.

Layer 3: Execution

Where accountability is proven: in delivery.
Leadership credibility is built through delivery.

Accountability is proven in delivery. This layer turns intent into outcomes through clear goals, confident delegation, and capability-building.
‍
‍Goal Setting
‍
Clarify outcomes, not just activity, and align department objectives to overall business priorities.
‍
‍Delegation
‍
Delegate with defined standards, timelines, and ownership. Reduce rework and micromanagement while building capability — delegation done well is accountability distributed.
‍
‍Coaching
‍
Develop independent thinking through structured questioning, growing confidence and competence within teams.

Layer 4: Strategic Growth

Where accountability lives: in the system.
Build leadership that scales with the business.

Accountability has to survive complexity and change. Ultimately, it needs to live in the system, not in any one person. This layer strengthens the judgement and culture that allow leadership to scale.
‍
‍Decision Making & Problem Solving
‍
Apply structured thinking to improve decision quality and reduce reactive choices.
‍
‍Growth Mindset
‍
Encourage learning over defensiveness and strengthen resilience in changing environments.
‍
‍Psychological Safety
‍
Create a culture where people speak up responsibly while maintaining performance standards.

Our Approach: The AccountabiliTree™ Framework

What sets our leadership development apart is not the topics. Those are common across the industry. It is how they connect. Every module links back to a single, measurable outcome: accountability.
‍
This is made possible by AccountabiliTree™, a structured accountability model developed by our founder, Innocente Burger, through years of practice.
‍
PerformForward delivers it as a complete leadership development programme. It gives leaders a shared language for what accountability looks like in practice, and gives the business a way to see it grow.

Blended Learning

A Shared Leadership Language

Consistent standards embedded across the business, so accountability means the same thing in every department.

Self-Driven Leadership

Practical, Not Theoretical

Focused on visible behavioural change in daily operations — leaders become more self-aware, more accountable, clearer in communication, and more confident in decision-making.

Research-Backed Methods

Linked to Accountability

Every module is taught through its impact on accountability, so each skill reinforces a single, coherent leadership outcome rather than a list of disconnected competencies.

Flipped Classroom Model

Measured Against Business Outcomes

Progress is visible, measurable, and tied to operational indicators — not a feeling that the training "went well."

Monthly Peer Coaching

Supported by Assessment Tools

The AccountabiliTree™ model includes its own accountability assessments that establish a baseline, track movement, and demonstrate growth over the journey.

In 2021 we decided to add the Emerging Leaders journey from Inspired Leadership to our early career professionals development. This unusual, but highly effective approach has had an excellent impact and we are now deploying all four paths of the Emerging Leader journey in the Africa Business Unit. This consulting relationship resulted in our Africa business moving from the bottom of the engagement pile to the top not only in our EMEA region but globally.
